About Me
Meet the Seattle Reptile Guy
"I want to recommend Marc. He is great with kids and his reptiles are so amazing!" Sullivan Hester, local mom
My name is Marc van Steenis and I have been keeping reptiles and amphibians as pets since I was a small boy growing up in Holland. My family used to regularly go camping in Germany, where I would spend hours playing in ponds and looking for snakes in the woods.
Now I live in Seattle with my wife and 2 kids. I continue to enjoy keeping and breeding snakes, lizards, geckos, skinks, tortoises, frogs, and insects.
I have done many animal presentations for my kids' elementary schools and preschools over the past fifteen years. I've also done presentations for local youth and other community groups. I bring a lot of interesting animals to show the kids. I also tell them funny and interesting stories all about the unique characteristics of each animal. I find that kids really love getting to see the animals up close. It's a great way to entertain and educate kids about nature and environmental conservation.
Reptile and Amphibian Breeding
Marc was our "reptile guy" when our kids were in preschool together. I speak from experience when I say he is awesome! The kids always were enthralled. He is very knowledgeable and patient, and has the coolest critters. He will put on a great party!!

I breed many different types of reptiles and amphibians. If your child wants a special pet for their birthday present, I may have what you are looking for. I can also offer advice on the general types of animals that are good for kids to keep as pets, how to set them up, and how to take care of them.
